Friend of a Friend - Philly
In the winter of 2008, I had just moved home to Philadelphia after a year abroad in England. In an effort to make new friends, I started going out to bars and restaurants with a few close companions. Anyone who has ever attempted the same thing would agree: it doesn't work that well! I began to meet friends of friends at parties and I realized...we should combine the joy of meeting friends' friends, and going out to our favorite bars and restaurants. Hence, Friend of a Friend - Philly was born.
Every month we harness the power of Facebook and invite our 350+ members to meet at a different location in the city to reunite with current friends and to make new ones. Word of mouth spreads and our numbers grow monthly. We have hosted events at some of Philadelphia's most exciting venues, such as Ladder 15, Walnut Room, Tir Na Nog, Pod, and APO.
